The museum is located right next to Wushigang Beach, in Toucheng Township of Yilan. The museum was opened in 2010 and immediately became one of the most popular spot of Yilan. The Exterior of the museum is a cuesta emerging from the ground, symbolizing the geological feature of the well known Beiguan Coast of Yilan. The museum offers exhibitions with the features of Yilan such as ‘Mountains Level’, ‘Plains Level’, and ‘Oceans level’, focusing on terrain of Yilan including the plains, mountains and sea.
